Description

The Daiwa TIERRA LJ IC (ティエラ LJ IC) is a light-jigging baitcasting reel for inshore work on yellowtail and amberjack-class game.

It's built on Daiwa's Hyperdrive Design with Hyperdrive DigiGear for sustained smooth rotation, an aluminum frame/sideplate/set plate, and a Synchro Level Wind that ties the level wind's left-right stroke to spool rotation on both drop and retrieve. Electronic Drag Sound replaces the mechanical drag click with an audio cue for smoother drag engagement, and the IC counter gives 10cm-precision depth readout with speed display, alarms, and an adjustable LED backlight.

Max drag is rated to 10kg.

The drivetrain

Hyperdrive DigiGear keeps rotation smooth under load, and the Synchro Level Wind ties the level wind's stroke to spool rotation on both drop and retrieve so line lays evenly whether you are dropping a jig or winding one back.

What it's built for

Built for inshore light jigging over structure and current lines holding yellowtail and amberjack-class fish, where fast, accurate jig placement and depth control matter more than long-range casting. This is especially effective over reef edges, current breaks and bait schools marked on the sounder.

How it fishes

The IC digital counter reads depth to 10 cm precision with a speed display, so jigs can be worked to a specific layer repeatedly; Electronic Drag Sound gives an audio cue in place of a mechanical click for smoother drag engagement on the strike.

Spools and spares

Pair with a light-jigging boat rod rated for 60-150 g jigs, PE1.5-3 line and a short fluorocarbon leader. Step the leader up in strength when fishing tight to structure rather than open current.
