Description

Cover Shrimp (カバーシュリンプ) is a 5-inch straight worm from Benten Fishing, built around the small shrimp and freshwater prawns that make up a staple of bass diets nationwide, year-round. Five irregularly-moving tails create the look of a shrimp shoal on the fall and swim — an action bass holed up in cover aren't used to seeing.

A reinforced collar holds a cover neko-rig hook firmly in place, and a flat-faced head improves feel while adding a wobble through the body. Ribs along the body grip water to throw off shrimp-like bubbles, and the material is a firmer compound built for fishing tight cover, infused with shrimp and squid extract. Rigs include cover neko, downshot, and free rig.

The swimming action

Five irregularly-moving tails create the look of a small shrimp shoal on the fall and swim, an action bass holding tight in cover are not used to seeing. A flat-faced head adds a wobble through the body and ribs along it throw off shrimp-like bubbles.

How to work it

Rig on a cover neko, downshot or free rig and work it slowly on the fall, letting the tails do the work through pauses. A reinforced collar holds the hook firmly for punching through cover, and the firmer, scent-infused material stands up to repeated bites.
