GRANDAGE WORLD OCEAN is Apia's offshore casting rod series, built around TORAYCA third-generation "T1100G" carbon - a 33t, world-highest-strength-class carbon fibre - reinforced with Apia's original "BULK405" construction, which raises the blank's break-strength standard by 150%. The series is tuned for casting distance, retaining close to 90% of full distance even on a roughly 60%-effort cast, reducing angler fatigue on long casting sessions.

Built around T1100G carbon reinforced with Apia's BULK405 construction, the blank retains close to 90% of full casting distance even on an easier, roughly 60%-effort cast, taking fatigue out of long casting sessions into a feeding frenzy. The overall feel matches its stated build, giving confidence it will perform consistently across a full day on the water.

What it's built for

An offshore casting series fished into nabura (surface feeding frenzies): the 834ML is distance-focused with a flexible blank suited to katsuo and buri that easily throw a hook, while the 825M is a more versatile, powerful option spanning kihada through to hiramasa and kanpachi.

How it fishes

Cast into or ahead of a feeding frenzy and work poppers and stickbaits with an aggressive, splashy retrieve, keeping the rod loaded through the fight rather than lifting hard and risking a pulled hook on a hot-running fish. Adjust the exact cadence and pace to water clarity, current strength and how actively the fish are feeding on the day.

The setup it likes

Pair with a large lever-drag or spinning reel matched to the rod's drag rating, PE #2-5 mainline, and a fluorocarbon leader suited to the size of fish typically encountered in the frenzy.
