Description
The Xesta CATAPULT 2026 (カタパルト) is the May-2026 renewal of Xesta's offshore casting rod for record-class gamefish, aimed at large yellowtail (hiramasa), yellowfin tuna (kihada) and giant trevally (GT). Blanks use Xesta's new Toreca T-1100G material.
This listing covers the S83-6 — described by Xesta as the standard 8'3" model that anyone can handle easily (max lure 130g, PE4–6) — and the S83-8, built to combine the operability to draw out large yellowtail with the butt power to land them (max lure 160g, PE5–8). Reel seats use the DPS system with a downlock method, and guides are from Xesta's MN/KW/LKW/MG series.

FAQ
What does the power rating (UL, L, M, MH) actually mean?
JDM power letters often run lighter than the same letter on a US or Australian blank. The honest spec is the lure-weight range in grams on each listing — match that to what you throw, and use the letter as a tiebreaker.
How do I read Japanese rod lengths?
Japanese lengths are written in feet and inches as a decimal: 6.6 reads as 6 feet 6 inches, not six-point-six feet.
One-piece or multi-piece for travel?
Two-piece and telescopic travel rods pack shorter and ship more easily. One-piece blanks feel cleaner, but long parcels can attract courier length surcharges and some carriers route them more slowly.
What warranty or service do imported rods have?
There is no local service centre for a JDM rod. Repairs go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before you buy.
Will a one-piece rod cost more to ship?
It can. Long parcels attract courier length surcharges on some routes and can move through fewer carriers. Any shipping cost shows at checkout before you pay — no surprises after the order.
