Description

Naraen70S (那羅延｜ナラエン) is TRANSCENDENCE's multi-piece rod built for kuromaguro (Pacific bluefin tuna), developed so anglers without a heavy build or a lot of muscle mass can still go toe-to-toe with monster-class fish.

The blank uses a finely sectioned tip, belly and butt design to balance casting accuracy, casting distance, fight fatigue and lift-up power, and the butt-section RV guide is positioned to maximise casting distance. The reel seat is Fuji-made; TRANSCENDENCE recommends a 20000-size reel (30000 also fits but costs some casting distance) and, because rods can be pulled from an angler's grip during the fight, recommends securing the reel with tape or a bandage wrap.

The blank

A finely sectioned tip, belly and butt built to spread load evenly through a fight, so lifting a heavy fish takes less raw strength than a simpler taper. Bench-tested to a 60° break strength above 30kg.

How it fishes

A casting-and-fighting rod rather than a finesse tool: the butt-section guide is positioned to maximise casting distance, then the blank is worked at a 60° angle through a long, deliberate lift-and-wind fight to the boat.

The setup it likes

Pair with a 20000-size (up to 30000) offshore spinning reel loaded with PE8–15, a heavy leader, and secure the reel to the seat as rods can be pulled from grip during the fight.
