Description

Ghibli83S (ギブリ83S) is TRANSCENDENCE's Japan offshore-casting pack rod for hiramasa (yellowtail amberjack), buri (Japanese amberjack), kihada (yellowfin tuna) and GT. It's built by extending the #3 section of the Ghibli80S, keeping the same light weight while reaching the highest strength class in TRANSCENDENCE's offshore rod range.

The extra butt power lets it cast noticeably bigger lures than the Ghibli80S, comfortably working lures from around 30g up to 120g divers and pencils, while the tip section's high-elasticity carbon sheet keeps casting sharp and pinpoint onto surface-feeding fish. Targets include 20kg-class hiramasa and large kihada and GT.

A 4-axis carbon spinning blank with a high-elasticity tip for sharp, pinpoint casting and a stepped-up butt section, extended from the Ghibli80S, that adds lifting power without extra bulk or swing weight in the hand.

What it's built for

Built for Japan-style offshore casting at hiramasa, buri and kihada tuna, and GT, working diving and popping lures from around 40g up to 120g at fish feeding on or near the surface.

How it fishes

Casts and works divers and pencil poppers at range with a crisp tip, then relies on the reinforced butt section to control 20kg-class fish through a long fight close to reef or current lines.

The setup it likes

Pair with a large offshore spinning reel in the 14000–18000 class, PE6–8 mainline and a heavy fluorocarbon leader suited to reef structure, current lines and fast-moving pelagic species such as GT.
