Description

POWER MASTER XTREAME (パワーマスター エクストリーム) is a 2026 TENRYU SHORE series developed for anglers chasing large fish from remote-island expeditions, combining raw power with refined casting control. This listing stocks the PMX872S-XXX "Monster Hunt" model: a spec derived from expeditions to remote islands nationwide, built to handle 100–180g plugs and 150–200g metal jigs on heavy PE8–10 line systems. Designed primarily for shore use, its specs also suit offshore casting. Matched reel size: SW14000–SW20000; spacer PE line usable up to a maximum of #30.

The blank surface carries a protective coating against scratches, and a lengthened butt section keeps the tip and belly sections protected at the closed length while travelling. C.N.T. (Carbon Nanotube) is composited into the butt for added resilience. Guides use titanium-frame K-guides with SiC rings at the tip, stainless-frame Ocean guides with SiC rings on the high-load belly section, and titanium-frame RV guides with SiC rings on the butt for smooth line release. The reel seat is a DPS system with Nishijin-weave carbon pipe.

What makes it different

Built to fish, not just to sell

The blank

A scratch-resistant coated blank and lengthened butt section protect the PMX872S-XXX on long expedition travel, while titanium and stainless guide stages in K, Ocean and RV styles handle the extreme loads of the heaviest plugs and jigs without losing smooth line release.

What it's built for

TENRYU's 'Monster Hunt' spec for remote-island expeditions nationwide, built to handle 100–180g plugs and 150–200g metal jigs on heavy PE8–10 systems, designed primarily for shore use but also suited to offshore casting for genuinely oversized pelagic fish.

How it fishes

Cast and work oversized plugs and jigs with maximum effort, relying on the DPS reel seat and Nishijin-weave carbon pipe grip for a secure hold through violent strikes and sustained fights with 10kg-plus fish.

The setup it likes

Match to an SW14000–SW20000 spinning reel spooled with PE 8–10 (spacer PE usable to #30) and a heavy 150–200 lb leader for remote-island GT, giant trevally-class fish and large tuna.

FAQ

What does the power rating (UL, L, M, MH) actually mean?

JDM power letters often run lighter than the same letter on a US or Australian blank. The honest spec is the lure-weight range in grams on each listing — match that to what you throw, and use the letter as a tiebreaker.

How do I read Japanese rod lengths?

Japanese lengths are written in feet and inches as a decimal: 6.6 reads as 6 feet 6 inches, not six-point-six feet.

One-piece or multi-piece for travel?

Two-piece and telescopic travel rods pack shorter and ship more easily. One-piece blanks feel cleaner, but long parcels can attract courier length surcharges and some carriers route them more slowly.

What warranty or service do imported rods have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM rod. Repairs go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before you buy.

Will a one-piece rod cost more to ship?

It can. Long parcels attract courier length surcharges on some routes and can move through fewer carriers. Any shipping cost shows at checkout before you pay — no surprises after the order.
