What makes it different

Built to fish, not just to sell

The blank

A 100% pure fiberglass blank gives the Japan Trout V GJTVC-51ULT a soft, deeply loading feel that protects light tippet and forgives a hesitant hookset, while Fuji T2 titanium-frame SiC-S K-guides keep the cast smooth.

What it's built for

A well-balanced, multi-purpose model built for Japan's wide range of stream lure fishing, handling everything from heavyweight sinking minnows down to ultra-light floating minnows, spinners and spoons in a single rod.

How it fishes

Work minnows on a natural, unhurried swim and spoons and spinners on a slow steady retrieve, letting the glass blank's forgiving bend cushion strikes from wary stream trout on light line.

The setup it likes

Pair with a small baitcasting reel spooled with 2–5 lb line or PE 0.3–0.6 and a short, light fluorocarbon leader for clear stream water.

FAQ

What does the power rating (UL, L, M, MH) actually mean?

JDM power letters often run lighter than the same letter on a US or Australian blank. The honest spec is the lure-weight range in grams on each listing — match that to what you throw, and use the letter as a tiebreaker.

How do I read Japanese rod lengths?

Japanese lengths are written in feet and inches as a decimal: 6.6 reads as 6 feet 6 inches, not six-point-six feet.

One-piece or multi-piece for travel?

Two-piece and telescopic travel rods pack shorter and ship more easily. One-piece blanks feel cleaner, but long parcels can attract courier length surcharges and some carriers route them more slowly.

What warranty or service do imported rods have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM rod. Repairs go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before you buy.

Will a one-piece rod cost more to ship?

It can. Long parcels attract courier length surcharges on some routes and can move through fewer carriers. Any shipping cost shows at checkout before you pay — no surprises after the order.
