Description

Studio Composite's PARADOX is a bass rod series built around one contradiction: light, sensitive rods are usually fragile, and strong rods are usually heavy. PARADOX pairs a delicate, high-sensitivity tip with a powerful butt section to resolve that trade-off.

Like the rest of the PARADOX and FTB series, it uses Studio Composite's "One & Half" construction — different carbon elasticity ratings in the tip and butt sections, joined with a 7cm overlap, for a flexible tip and a strong, high-lift butt.

This listing is the PARADOX Parker 65MH NSJ (パラドックス パーカー 65MH NSJ): 6ft 5in length, rated for lures up to 1oz and mono line up to 20lb, Regular Fast action, One & Half two-piece construction, 149.5cm folded length. 2024 model.

What makes it different

Built to fish, not just to sell

The blank

One & Half construction pairs a delicate, high-sensitivity tip with a powerful butt section joined by a 7cm overlap, resolving the usual trade-off between a light, sensitive rod and a strong, heavy one.

What it's built for

A bass rod built for anglers who want finesse-level bite detection without giving up the lifting power to control fish around cover, suited to a wide range of moderate-weight lures and techniques.

How it fishes

Regular Fast action gives a quick load into the butt section on the hook-set, useful for driving hooks home at range while the tip stays sensitive enough to feel light pickups.

The setup it likes

Pairs with a 6.3:1-7:1 baitcasting reel on 12-16lb fluorocarbon, matched to jigs, worms and moderate-weight hardbaits.

Straight answers

FAQ

What does the power rating (UL, L, M, MH) actually mean?

JDM power letters often run lighter than the same letter on a US or Australian blank. The honest spec is the lure-weight range in grams on each listing — match that to what you throw, and use the letter as a tiebreaker.

How do I read Japanese rod lengths?

Japanese lengths are written in feet and inches as a decimal: 6.6 reads as 6 feet 6 inches, not six-point-six feet.

One-piece or multi-piece for travel?

Two-piece and telescopic travel rods pack shorter and ship more easily. One-piece blanks feel cleaner, but long parcels can attract courier length surcharges and some carriers route them more slowly.

What warranty or service do imported rods have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM rod. Repairs go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before you buy.

Will a one-piece rod cost more to ship?

It can. Long parcels attract courier length surcharges on some routes and can move through fewer carriers. Any shipping cost shows at checkout before you pay — no surprises after the order.
