Description
The Smith D-Concept 48MD is a 48 mm, 5 g heavy-sinking medium-deep minnow built around the maker's "Depth, Direction, Distance" concept — the D series' first medium-deep model. A moulded weight and a deliberately small lip give it a clean flight attitude, comfortable casting distance and a reeling depth of around 150 cm in still water on 4 lb line, and it runs with the D-Contact Hook #12.
Twitching brings a sharp flash-roll and inertial slide for strong bites, while lift-and-fall works the lure with a writhing, struggling motion, and it holds a tough, stable balance on the slow retrieve to draw out fish sitting out of reach of an up-current presentation — a flat-side minnow that covers shallow to bottom and up-to-down water alike.
