Description

The Shimano 24 Ocea Conquest CT (24オシアコンクエストCT) is a conventional offshore reel built around a high-precision metal body and Micro Module Gear drivetrain, paired with a digital line counter and fall lever for repeatable jigging and tai-rubber (red seabream) strategy.

The renewed CT adds a new-type fall lever that keeps retrieve weight consistent even under brake tension, plus Shimano's Infinity Drive for a lighter, more sensitive crank. The line counter gets a wider viewing angle and a retrieve-distance alarm that sounds as the spool nears a set depth.

Durability carries over from the Ocea Conquest line: a high-durability clutch, corrosion-resistant stainless internal parts, and X-Protect water sealing. This listing is the 300 size, offered in PG and MG gear ratios.

What makes it different

Built to fish, not just to sell

The drivetrain

A high-precision metal body and Micro Module Gear drivetrain give a solid, precise retrieve, while Infinity Drive lightens crank feel and a new-type fall lever keeps retrieve weight consistent even under brake tension on the drop.

What it's built for

Built for repeatable jigging and tai-rubber strategy where returning to the same depth matters, using the digital line counter's retrieve-distance alarm to sound as the spool nears a pre-set depth.

How it fishes

Use the fall lever to control the drop to a marked depth, then wind back at the pace the technique calls for, reading the wide-angle line counter to repeat a productive depth on the next drop.

Spools and spares

Pair with a tairaba or jigging boat rod matched to the PG or MG gearing chosen, loaded with PE1.5–3 braid and a fluorocarbon leader suited to madai or the pelagic species being targeted.

FAQ

Is the JDM version different from the US or AU release?

Often, yes. JDM releases can differ in spool depth, weight and handle options, and the Japanese lineup is usually broader — including sizes and models never exported.

Will spare spools from my current reel fit?

Spool compatibility is per generation, not per model name. Check the model year and size code against the spool before buying — the model code is listed on every reel.

What size should I choose?

As a ladder: 1000–2500 for finesse and light lines, 2500–4000 for general lure work, 4000 and up for heavy or salt duties. Match the size to your line and water first.

PG, HG or XG — what's the difference?

PG is a slow, powerful gear for cranking. HG is the all-round high gear. XG is the fastest retrieve for picking up slack quickly — higher speed trades away winding torque.

What warranty or service do imported reels have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM reel. Repairs and servicing go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — weigh that before you buy.

Can I still get spares for older JDM-only models?

Often, yes — Japanese makers keep parts lists for older models, and some spares are stocked here. See the spares and custom parts collection, or ask before you order.
