Description

Shimano's 2021-generation ツインパワーSW (Twin Power SW), a large offshore/shore spinning reel that inherits key mechanisms from the flagship Stella SW. Infinity Drive supports the main shaft on a low-friction bushing, cutting rotational torque by roughly 30% for powerful retrieve under load; Heat Sink Drag vents heat away from the drag stack to reduce heat-related drag-force loss by about 50%, with an insulating sheet cutting heat transfer into the spool by roughly 30%; and X Protect waterproofing — already used at the stopper bearing — is extended to the line roller, raising bearing durability there roughly tenfold. The rotor is machined from aluminum alloy (X Rigid Rotor) for stiffness and balance.

The 6000XG is a high-speed casting model (6.2 gear ratio) for quickly clearing a lure from the hit zone in fast-paced games such as casting to surface-feeding frenzies, recommended for PE2-4#. The 8000PG is a power-focused, low-gear PE-only jigging model with 4#-300m capacity, recommended for PE3-5#. The 10000PG is a deep-water and big-fish specialist built around a large 10000 spool, fitted with the Heat Sink Drag, and recommended for PE4-6#.

FAQ

Is the JDM version different from the US or AU release?

Often, yes. JDM releases can differ in spool depth, weight and handle options, and the Japanese lineup is usually broader — including sizes and models never exported.

Will spare spools from my current reel fit?

Spool compatibility is per generation, not per model name. Check the model year and size code against the spool before buying — the model code is listed on every reel.

What size should I choose?

As a ladder: 1000–2500 for finesse and light lines, 2500–4000 for general lure work, 4000 and up for heavy or salt duties. Match the size to your line and water first.

PG, HG or XG — what's the difference?

PG is a slow, powerful gear for cranking. HG is the all-round high gear. XG is the fastest retrieve for picking up slack quickly — higher speed trades away winding torque.

What warranty or service do imported reels have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM reel. Repairs and servicing go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — weigh that before you buy.

Can I still get spares for older JDM-only models?

Often, yes — Japanese makers keep parts lists for older models, and some spares are stocked here. See the spares and custom parts collection, or ask before you order.
