Description

The Shimano BeastMaster 1000EJ (ビーストマスター 1000EJ) is the smallest reel in Shimano's BeastMaster electric reel series and the first size in the range built with EJ (Electric Jigging) mode. A GIGA-MAX brushless motor paired with a reinforced gear system gives the compact body high power and high speed, and a max drag of 15.0kg is built to handle large pelagic fish. Shimano's official page lists it for hand-held electric jigging as well as yari-ika (spear squid), surume-ika (Japanese flying squid), hiramasa (yellowtail amberjack) and buri (Japanese amberjack) boat fishing.

EJ mode offers a Manual Jerk Mode (electric wind-up while the Pick Up button is held) and an Auto Jerk Mode (freely set winding speed, winding time and stop time). The New Touch Drive adds a 31-step intermediate speed setting to prevent over-winding, a Speed Clutch gives one-touch clutch on/off while thumbing the spool, and the S Compact Body relocates the power-cable connector to the handle side for improved palming. It also supports Tankenmaru (探見丸) seabed- and fish-school-depth display units.
