PRO'S ONE's Spiny Craw 3.5" (スパイニークロー3.5) is a Deps × PRO'S ONE collaboration craw worm for rock fish. A high-buoyancy material that combines tensile strength with softness, paired with a hollow air holder, lets the worm stand upright on the bottom — depending on line tension it can even hold a fully upright "banzai" pose.

Unlike most claw worms, whose claws create drag that shortens casting distance, the Spiny Craw's thin claws fold back under air resistance in flight, giving it casting range beyond what its shape and size would suggest. Spines covering the whole body grip the water evenly, so the entire worm radiates vibration to draw strikes. It's a crustacean-style bait built for falling and bottom action, releasing strong flavour and scent while staying flexible — effective when imitating crabs, or the juvenile shrimp that Akahata (red grouper) often feed on.

The swimming action

The Spiny Craw's high-buoyancy, hollow-bodied claws let it stand upright off the bottom under light line tension, while spines across the body radiate vibration on the fall to draw fish in.

When to throw it

A bottom-focused crustacean imitation for rockfish over broken ground and reef, effective when akahata (red grouper) and similar rockfish are keying on crabs or juvenile shrimp.

How to work it

Work it with a slow drag-and-pause or lift-and-fall along the bottom, letting it stand upright between movements; most bites come on the fall or the pause.

The setup it likes

A rockfish spinning rod (M–MH, 7–8ft), 2500–3000 reel, 12–20lb braid and a 16–20lb fluorocarbon leader with a jig head sized to the depth and current.
