PRO'S ONE's Death Adder Shad 4" (デスアダーシャッド4) is a Deps × PRO'S ONE collaboration swimming shad-tail worm designed around Oomon-hata (areolate grouper) and feeding Kijihata (sevenband grouper) — species whose strong swimming strikes the maker set out to capture with a dedicated swimming action. The belly is shaped with extra centre width so grouper looking up from below get a natural, easy-to-see silhouette, and the wider body also makes it easier to screw a coil-style blade into the bait for hata call-up rigs.

A tail fin acts as a flow-straightening stabiliser, keeping the bait swimming dead straight in strong current — left in place for fast water, or trimmed off in slower water for a wider tail swing, brighter visual appeal and more fall-triggering action; a built-in "2-way" setup for tuning the retrieve on the spot. It is built to hold a swimming posture on 20-40g jig heads for long-cast spinning tackle and up to around 50g heads for boat rock fishing.

The swimming action

The shad-tail swims with a steady, straight tracking action stabilised by a flow-straightening tail fin, holding a true swim even in strong current; trimming the tail fin widens the tail kick and adds fall-triggering flutter in slower water.

When to throw it

Built around areolate grouper (oomon-hata) and sevenband grouper (kijihata) fishing over rocky structure and reef edges, from rock and jetty marks as well as boat rock fishing.

How to work it

Rig on a 20–40g jig head for long-cast shore work or up to around 50g for boat fishing, and work it with a lift-and-fall retrieve or a slow swim close to structure, watching for the take on the drop.

The setup it likes

A rockfish-rated spinning rod (MH, 8–9ft) with a 3000–4000 reel, 20–30lb braid and a 20–30lb fluorocarbon leader suits shore casting with the larger jig heads.
