The ST-36MF takes Owner's ST-36 "Sanroku" treble - a sharp point on an orthodox round-bend shape - and adds a Magic Fluorine coating that minimises the hook's surface friction coefficient, quickening penetration from the first touch through to the barb.

It is built for subtle bites in low-activity conditions, at distance or in deep water, while keeping the familiar feel of the standard ST-36.
