Description

IN THE BAIT/BASS (インザベイトバス) is Nories' tail-spin jig style vibration lure, built around a high-strength alloy body and available in 7g, 12g, 18g and 30g sinking weights. This listing is the 30g size.

The body is thickened near the hook eye and shaped so the hook point releases cleanly, reducing line tangles, while an elevated "kick-up eye" on the tail keeps the line clear during the fall. Nories' original V blade adds strong flash and vibration.

Fished with a straight retrieve across flats, a lift-and-drop presentation along breaks, or worked on the surface when bass are boiling. Target species: bass.

The swimming action

Reinforced body thickness around the hook eye stops the hook rotating and catching the line, while a head shape cut to release the point quickly aids hook-up on the strike. An elevated 'kick-up eye' at the tail lifts the line clear of the body during the fall, and the Nories V blade adds a strong flash and vibration through the retrieve.

When to throw it

A searching bait for probing depth changes, flats and drop-offs when bass could be holding anywhere in the water column. The 30g size suits deeper flats, longer casts and a faster fall rate. It also works through the cooler months, as well as when bass are schooling and feeding aggressively on the surface.

How to work it

Fish it on a bottom-contact retrieve, hopping it back along the substrate, or work a lift-and-fall through mid-water. When bass are boiling on baitfish, a straight, fast retrieve near the surface keeps the blade spinning and drawing reaction strikes.

The setup it likes

A 6'6"-7'0" medium-heavy spinning or baitcasting rod with a fast tip suits the treble hooks, matched to 12-16lb fluorocarbon for a direct connection to the blade's vibration and enough abrasion resistance for bottom contact.
