The swimming action

An ultra-soft, scent-infused tairaba trailer worm that appeals to madai through sight, vibration and smell. Simply nick it onto the hook and its soft curly tail flutters with the lightest movement, adding drop and retrieve action to the head it's paired with.

When to throw it

Purpose-built for tai-rubber (tairaba) fishing for madai (red sea bream), and also effective on rockfish holding over reef and structure, wherever a soft, natural-feeling trailer helps hold a bite longer.

How to work it

Nick it onto the tairaba hook so it sits naturally, then fish it with the same steady, slow wind used for the tairaba head, replacing the worm once it is torn or the scent fades.

Matches whatever tairaba head and outfit it's paired with -- typically a soft-tipped tairaba boat rod, small reel, PE 0.8-1.5 braid and a 4-6 fluorocarbon leader.
