Information

The swimming action

HAMA-OH pairs a purpose-built jig head with a matching worm, combining a rolling head action with a wobbling tail kick. Two line-tie eyes let anglers switch between a sliding eye for maximum casting distance and a fixed eye for a slower, more controlled retrieve.

When to throw it

Built specifically for flat-game fishing on points and structure where flatfish (flounder/hirame) hold, as a shorter-casting, more precise alternative to the long-range Jigpara Surf. Heavier sizes in the range suit deeper water, current and longer casts.

How to work it

Cast and let it settle to the bottom, then work it with a slow lift-and-drag or a steady slow roll so the head keeps contact with the bottom and the tail keeps kicking. Pause on contact and work the strike zone carefully rather than retrieving fast.

The setup it likes

Suits a flat-game or general-purpose spinning rod (ML to M), a 2500-3000 reel, PE 0.8-1.5 braid and a 12-20 lb fluorocarbon leader, sizing up rod power and leader with the heavier 21g and 28g heads.
