Description
サーフトライブ (Surf Tribe) is Jackson's dedicated surf spinning rod series, built for flatfish (hirame), trophy seabass and large blue-water pelagics (aomono) fished from the beach. Jackson built one of the earliest purpose-made surf seabass rods, the "Chiron," back in 1982, and Surf Tribe carries that lineage forward.
Blanks use 40t carbon as the main material, reinforced with additional carbon sheet laid in the 90-degree direction for extra rigidity, so the blank generates more lifting power the further it bends. Casts convert lure weight into rebound through a parabolic bend for long-range distance, and guides use Fuji's lightweight, wide-bore thin SiC rings to add distance while cutting down on hand fatigue from the rod's carried weight.

What does the power rating (UL, L, M, MH) actually mean?
JDM power letters often run lighter than the same letter on a US or Australian blank. The honest spec is the lure-weight range in grams on each listing — match that to what you throw, and use the letter as a tiebreaker.
How do I read Japanese rod lengths?
Japanese lengths are written in feet and inches as a decimal: 6.6 reads as 6 feet 6 inches, not six-point-six feet.
One-piece or multi-piece for travel?
Two-piece and telescopic travel rods pack shorter and ship more easily. One-piece blanks feel cleaner, but long parcels can attract courier length surcharges and some carriers route them more slowly.
What warranty or service do imported rods have?
There is no local service centre for a JDM rod. Repairs go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before you buy.
Will a one-piece rod cost more to ship?
