Jackall ABBEY SOLID 55S

Jackall ABBEY SOLID 55S (アビーソリッド 55S) is a solid-body plug built for mebaru (Japanese rockfish) that get selective on transparent, small-grain bait such as shirasu, plankton and ami (mysid shrimp). Compared with a typical hollow-body plug, the resin-filled solid body has far less internal diffuse reflection, giving it a transparency and texture close to the natural bait that gets fussy mebaru to bite — its refractive index sits close to that of shirasu, so it blends naturally into the water.

A joint structure gives it worm-like action despite being a hard plug: slow retrieves produce a gentle wobble, faster retrieves switch to a quick S-curve. The body carries no built-in sinker — the hook itself provides the balancing weight — so it falls and retrieves slowly, supporting a subsurface slow retrieve, shallow lift-and-fall, and limited-movement head-shake presentations. Official specs are 55mm, 2.6g, sinking, hook size #14.
