The HMKL ALIVE BAIT (アライブベイト) is HMKL's first jointed minnow: a 5-segment body with a silicone tail that produces smooth, life-like swimming movement. Two line-tie eyes let it switch roles — the nose-tip eye for topwater presentations, and the head eye for working roughly 50cm below the surface.

The Alive Bait's five-segment jointed body and silicone tail combine for a smooth, life-like swimming motion, and the two line-tie eyes let it switch roles: clipped at the nose it runs a topwater walk, and clipped at the head it works roughly 50cm under the surface.

When to throw it

Built as a bass jointed minnow, it suits largemouth and smallmouth water where a slow-rolling, realistic profile draws more attention than a hard-vibrating bait, including pressured lakes and clear water.

How to work it

Fish it on a steady to slow-rolling retrieve to let the joints work naturally, switching the line tie between the nose and head eye to move between a surface walk and a shallow subsurface swim depending on how fish are responding.
