Description
The TGW Twin SP-M (Nano Smooth Coat) is a twin (double) sproat-bend hook built from Gamakatsu's proprietary T.G.W. (Tournament Grade Wire) and finished in Nano Smooth Coat. Its two points pivot on a moving joint, letting the hook find an angle to match the fish's mouth and continuing to adjust through the fight so the hook hole is less prone to enlarging than with a fixed treble. Gamakatsu's official listing for this item (68-640) marks it as discontinued.
Because it presents fewer points than a treble, Gamakatsu states it causes less secondary-hook-up damage to the fish, and mounted facing outward on a plug it avoids the rattling contact noise a treble can make against the lure body. Gamakatsu lists it for shore jigging & casting, tachiuo (beltfish) and bass use, in sizes #8 through #3.

FAQ
How does PE rating convert to pounds?
Only approximately. A common rule of thumb is PE size × 10 ≈ breaking strain in pounds, but it varies by brand and braid construction — check the maker's own lb or kg rating on the listing.
Are hook and jig head sizes the same across brands?
No — sizes aren't standardised between Japanese makers. Size to the lure you're rigging and check the brand's own size chart; the measurements on the listing are the honest reference.
The colour looks slightly different from my last spool — is that normal?
Yes. Dye batches on braid and finishes on painted heads vary between production runs. It's cosmetic and doesn't change the spec.
How does small tackle ship?
Packed in Japan and sent with tracked international shipping, same as everything else. Small items still get a tracking number; delivery time varies by destination.
Why buy JDM line specifically?
Japanese line makers in the JAFTMA industry group publish tight diameter and strength tolerances, and member brands are measured against them. Check each listing's spec — that's a per-brand claim, not a blanket promise.
