Description
The Soaring Roll is Gamakatsu's dedicated hook for the hover-strolling technique. It is designed by fitting heat-shrink tubing over a jig hook to make a self-built worm keeper, with an entry angle that prioritises penetration over initial contact so it clears the timing lag before hook-set caused by line mending. It uses a Limerick bend, which carries slightly more wire than a round bend, making the hook easier to roll.
A compact form paired with a thicker wire diameter keeps the hook's silhouette less visible to nervous big bass, while still giving it strength to hold after the hook-set.

FAQ
How does PE rating convert to pounds?
Only approximately. A common rule of thumb is PE size × 10 ≈ breaking strain in pounds, but it varies by brand and braid construction — check the maker's own lb or kg rating on the listing.
Are hook and jig head sizes the same across brands?
No — sizes aren't standardised between Japanese makers. Size to the lure you're rigging and check the brand's own size chart; the measurements on the listing are the honest reference.
The colour looks slightly different from my last spool — is that normal?
Yes. Dye batches on braid and finishes on painted heads vary between production runs. It's cosmetic and doesn't change the spec.
How does small tackle ship?
Packed in Japan and sent with tracked international shipping, same as everything else. Small items still get a tracking number; delivery time varies by destination.
Why buy JDM line specifically?
Japanese line makers in the JAFTMA industry group publish tight diameter and strength tolerances, and member brands are measured against them. Check each listing's spec — that's a per-brand claim, not a blanket promise.
