LUXXE SpeedMetal SS (ラグゼスピードメタル SS) S610M-solid is a spinning rod from Gamakatsu's LUXXE series, built as a high-sensitivity entry model for ikametaru (squid metal-jig) fishing aimed at kensaki squid.

The series pairs a sensitive solid tip with an action tuned for good operability, suited to an active jigging-and-hooking style that lets anglers fully enjoy kensaki squid game fishing.

S610M-solid is an omorig-style model mainly built around 15-25 gou sinkers, usable up to a max of 30 gou. It suits shallow-water approaches and lightweight sinkers in slack current; a supple tip section suppresses rig bounce and shows fine bites clearly, and it also handles rough-weather stability and long-stay fishing styles well.

How it fishes

Worked with a gentler lift-and-fall than the faster-action baitcasting model, letting the supple tip telegraph light bites in slack water rather than driving an aggressive jigging cadence. This suits cautious squid holding in slack water better than an active bite.

The setup it likes

Pair with a small spinning reel, PE 0.4-1 line and a fluorocarbon leader. Match it to a light sutte lure rig fished omorig-style off the bottom. A small spinning reel with a smooth drag suits the gentler omorig retrieve this rod is built for.
