Description

The Assist 59 Light is a double-hook jigging assist rig from Gamakatsu's Assist series, built for small inshore migratory species taken on light jigs — tsubasu (juvenile yellowtail), hamachi, shio (juvenile amberjack), mekki (juvenile giant trevally) and soda-gatsuo (frigate mackerel). Sizes #6 and #4 are tied on 8-gou kevlar cord, while #2, #1 and 1/0 step up to 10-gou cord, and each pack contains two assist rigs.

Its double-hook layout is designed to convert fish that have followed a jig but couldn't get a single hook into their small mouths, improving hook-up rate and helping prevent fish from throwing the hook once connected.
