Description

The Flex Master 118 (フレックスマスター118) is the long-length model in Evergreen's Zephyr Avantgarde (ゼファーアバンギャルド) seabass series, designed with angler Daisuke Mori around an 11'8" blank that flexes through its whole length rather than relying on stiffness, so it can be cast a long way without arm strength. The extra length is built for approaching skittish seabass in city harbours from a step back off the water's edge, in open fields with room behind the angler; the curve-through tip is also meant to absorb short strikes on a slow retrieve rather than pulling the lure away before the fish commits.

Length is 3.56m (11'8") in 2 pieces, standard weight 208g, lure range 8-35g, and recommended line PE 0.8-1.5 go / mono 6-16lb. The blank uses a dense, low-resin lay-up with a thin coat of paint, reinforced at the butt with 4-axis Quatro-Cross carbon for sensitivity and butt power on larger fish. Guides are Fuji titanium-frame SiC K-guides in an original low-tangle PE-line setup, joined with a spigot joint, and finished with a black Fuji VSS up-lock reel seat and a Zephyr original end plate. Target species: seabass (シーバス). Made in Japan.
