Description

The Dot Tail (ドットテール) is built around a hollow, ball-shaped tail moderated by ultra-thin rear fins, producing a fine, soft natural action rather than a hard wobble. At rest on the bottom, air buoyancy lifts the tail into a distinctive posture so the ball and fins catch water and move automatically. The body is deliberately made thicker so it can sense changes in current, helping it approach the position where fish are holding more accurately. Molded in Evergreen's original E.G.PDW-02 compound for fine action with high durability and slip resistance.

This 2.5-inch size adds the volume needed to more precisely sense current changes and target larger fish. It is effective on larger horse mackerel (aji) and rockfish (mebaru), and also on kasago (a rockfish species).

The Dot Tail's hollow, ball-shaped tail is moderated by ultra-thin rear fins, giving a fine, soft, natural action rather than a hard wobble. At rest the tail's air buoyancy lifts it into a natural posture so the ball and fins move on their own, and the thicker body helps it sense subtle changes in current.

When to throw it

Suited to light rock and jetty fishing for aji, mebaru and kasago, this 2.5 inch size adds enough volume to sense current changes more precisely and target larger fish than the smaller sizes in the range.

How to work it

Fish it on a light jighead with a slow, steady retrieve or gentle lift-and-fall, letting the tail's natural movement do the work rather than imparting hard rod action. Pause it in current seams where fish are holding.
