Description

The Evergreen Cover Creeper 3.5g is a compact finesse cover jig built around a wide, low-centre-of-gravity resin-tungsten head, developed by jig specialist Toshifumi Kikumoto for bass that refuse a full-size cover jig but still need pulling out of heavy cover. As one of the four original light sizes (2.8g/3.5g/4.5g/5.8g) it carries a lighter wire brush guard set-up for light-tackle use and an original-shape, medium-thick-gauge hook with a smooth fluorocarbon coating for easy penetration.

A fine-diameter silicone skirt is cut in three lengths for a layered, lifelike flare, and a 0.4mm wire trailer keeper holds a soft-plastic trailer securely for pitching a pin spot or dragging along the bottom. It is FECO eco-tackle certified for use in JB/NBC tournaments.

Information

The swimming action

A wide, low-centre-of-gravity resin-tungsten head keeps the jig stable and swimming true through cover, while a fine-diameter silicone skirt cut in three lengths gives a layered, lifelike flare on the fall and on any hop or drag.

When to throw it

Designed for bass that refuse a full-size cover jig but still need to be pried out of heavy cover — the lighter sizes suit pin-spot pitching and light tackle, the heavier sizes carry a stronger hook and denser brush guard for punching thicker mats and timber.

How to work it

Pitch or flip it into cover and let it fall on a controlled line, then hop or drag it a short distance before working it free; a soft-plastic trailer is normally added, held by the 0.4mm wire keeper.

The setup it likes

The lighter sizes (2.8-5.8g) suit a medium 6'6"-7'0" spinning or light baitcasting rod with 10-14lb fluorocarbon.
