The pre-rigged Haul Fish Set pairs a slim baitfish-shaped soft body with a segmented, dorsal-finned design that produces rapid, high-frequency micro-vibration on the retrieve. The rear half kicks sharply on any change of direction, giving it an erratic, triggering action without any rigging required.

Built for flounder (hirame) and flathead (magochi) fishing from the surf and flats, it suits sandy bottoms where a compact, fast-sinking bait that gets straight to the strike zone is an advantage over a bulkier hard bait. It earns its keep most on days when a hard bait's bulk or diving lip would foul in weed or a shallow, snaggy bottom.

Fish it hard on bottom with a slow drag-and-pause retrieve, letting the jighead touch down between movements, or work it with a steady swim just above the sand. The built-in micro-vibration keeps working even at a crawl, and a full pause on the bottom often draws a strike as the vibration settles.

A 9ft surf or general-purpose spinning rod, a 3000-4000 reel, PE1-1.5 braid and a 16-20 lb fluorocarbon leader handle the 31g jighead comfortably at typical surf-casting range. Check the soft body after each fish for tears near the jighead's metal plate, since a split liner will let the body spin and lose the vibration action that makes the rig work.
