The Blanka Tachiuo SP is a slim vertical jig for tachiuo (hairtail), built to flutter and flash on the drop and cut cleanly through current on the retrieve or jig stroke. It ships without hooks, so an assist or single hook needs to be rigged to suit local tachiuo tackle. The Zebra finish adds a bold, high-contrast pattern over the same body and action.

Fished at anchor points or drifting for tachiuo, where the hot colour can change through a session and having a range of finishes on the same proven action matters more than switching jig shapes. It also suits deeper water and stronger current where a fast-sinking, dense jig profile is needed to reach fish quickly.

Drop it to the bottom or a marked depth, then work it on a slow lift-and-fall or short jig strokes through the tachiuo's holding depth, pausing on the fall where most bites come. Keep the rod tip low between strokes so slack line does not build up, since most bites are felt rather than seen on this style of jig.

Suits a 6'-7' tachiuo-specific jigging or boat rod rated to the jig's weight, a small baitcast or spinning reel, PE1-2 braid and a wire or heavy fluorocarbon leader to resist tachiuo's teeth. Match jig weight closely to the rod's rating and the current strength on the day, sizing down in slack water and up when the tide is running hard.
