Description

ハートランド リベラリスト (HEARTLAND LIBERALIST) is Daiwa's species-agnostic lure rod series, developed with angler Haruhiko Murakami under the concept “ターゲットに外道無し” (there is no such thing as an off-target catch) — a rod meant for freshwater and saltwater lure fishing alike. The series launched for HEARTLAND's 25th anniversary in a purple-based colourway with the traditional Diamond Wrap.

The blank keeps HEARTLAND's tubular power slim character but in a thicker-walled, slimmer regular-slow-taper build for extra lifting power. Construction uses SVF NANOPLUS carbon with X45 Full Shield anti-twist layup, V-JOINTα ferrules, and an AIR SENSOR SEAT reel seat.

This listing covers two models from the range:

  • 803M+RSB-22 (baitcasting, 2.44m / 3-piece, 150g, lure weight 7–50g / jig up to 60g, PE max 2.5, nylon 12–30lb): for freshwater bass and catfish (namazu), and saltwater shore jigging for migratory fish, rockfish (ainame, soi) and seabass.
  • 903ML+RSS-22 (spinning, 2.74m / 3-piece, 160g, lure weight 5–40g / jig up to 50g, PE max 2, nylon 8–25lb): for freshwater bass shore casting and river/lake trout, plus saltwater seabass, tachiuo, light shore jigging for small migratory fish, and flatfish (hirame, magochi).

Carbon content is 100% on both models. Each rod ships in a dedicated 3-piece HEARTLAND LIBERALIST case with shoulder strap.

FAQ

What does the power rating (UL, L, M, MH) actually mean?

JDM power letters often run lighter than the same letter on a US or Australian blank. The honest spec is the lure-weight range in grams on each listing — match that to what you throw, and use the letter as a tiebreaker.

How do I read Japanese rod lengths?

Japanese lengths are written in feet and inches as a decimal: 6.6 reads as 6 feet 6 inches, not six-point-six feet.

One-piece or multi-piece for travel?

Two-piece and telescopic travel rods pack shorter and ship more easily. One-piece blanks feel cleaner, but long parcels can attract courier length surcharges and some carriers route them more slowly.

What warranty or service do imported rods have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM rod. Repairs go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before you buy.

Will a one-piece rod cost more to ship?

It can. Long parcels attract courier length surcharges on some routes and can move through fewer carriers. Any shipping cost shows at checkout before you pay — no surprises after the order.
