Description

LUVIAS ST (Sensitive Tune) is a special-tuned model based on the lightweight LUVIAS spinning reel, pursuing even lighter winding and further weight reduction. The lineup covers ST LT and ST SF, six models in total specialised for finesse fishing. While keeping the core performance of LUVIAS LT/SF, the ball bearings in the main rotating parts are switched from grease-type to oil-type for lighter handle rotation, and the pinion's mag shield is deliberately omitted for a touch more weight saving not reflected in the spec sheet.

Design-wise it keeps the LUVIAS LT/SF base but swaps to a matte black spool and gunmetal handle/engine plate (versus gunmetal x silver on the standard LUVIAS) for a stoic, minimalist look.

Official Daiwa product: 24ルビアス ST.

FAQ

Is the JDM version different from the US or AU release?

Often, yes. JDM releases can differ in spool depth, weight and handle options, and the Japanese lineup is usually broader — including sizes and models never exported.

Will spare spools from my current reel fit?

Spool compatibility is per generation, not per model name. Check the model year and size code against the spool before buying — the model code is listed on every reel.

What size should I choose?

As a ladder: 1000–2500 for finesse and light lines, 2500–4000 for general lure work, 4000 and up for heavy or salt duties. Match the size to your line and water first.

PG, HG or XG — what's the difference?

PG is a slow, powerful gear for cranking. HG is the all-round high gear. XG is the fastest retrieve for picking up slack quickly — higher speed trades away winding torque.

What warranty or service do imported reels have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM reel. Repairs and servicing go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — weigh that before you buy.

Can I still get spares for older JDM-only models?

Often, yes — Japanese makers keep parts lists for older models, and some spares are stocked here. See the spares and custom parts collection, or ask before you order.
