The Daiwa BASARA IC (バサラIC) is a boat baitcasting reel built on Daiwa's Hyperdrive Design platform for a wide range of saltwater boat fishing — tachiuo, tenya, aji, isaki, amadai, bottom fishing, kingfish, flatfish, squid, and tai-rubber.

It features a machine-cut, full-aluminum Hyper Armed Housing, Hyperdrive DigiGear, dual ball-bearing Hyper Double Support on the pinion, a saltwater-resistant Hyper Tough Clutch, mag-sealed ball bearings, and Daiwa's ATD automatic drag system. The built-in IC counter adds a depth alarm, retrieval-speed and timer readouts, an LED backlight, and a tool-free replaceable CR2032 battery, paired with Synchro Level Wind for even line lay.
