Description

CST-BL is a barbless treble hook from CLUE, developed as a tail hook for tachiuo (太刀魚, largehead hairtail/beltfish) jigging.

Trebles used on tachiuo jigs need both hooking power and holding power. CLUE studied the relationship between a tachiuo's bite and its mouth shape to position the eye and hook point at what it determined to be the optimal angle and distance, and ground the point straight to cut power loss at the moment of hookset.

The hook's distinctive three-cornered shape also reduces slipping during the fight and tends to seat the fish in the deepest part of the gape, giving strong holding power.
