Bait Breath BeTanCo Curly

BeTanCo Curly pairs a flat-sided, flashing body with a curly tail aimed at bigger fish, its coarse-textured skin and ribbed sides adding a lifelike vibration that rolls without the body spinning. That steady, repeatable behaviour is part of why the design has stayed in regular rotation among anglers who fish the same water often enough to notice what actually draws strikes.

It targets ainame, soi rockfish, kasago, hirame, kajika and Japanese seabass around structure and harbour walls, and also draws largemouth bass in freshwater. It is a sensible lure to keep rigged and ready rather than a narrow specialist, since the conditions it suits come up often enough across a normal session.

Fish it on a jig head with a steady roll at slow or fast speed, or rig it Texas-style for a stable swim through cover; its scent formula helps hold fish on the bite. It pays to change up the retrieve a few times early in a session rather than committing to one cadence, since the right speed can vary from day to day.

A 6-7ft light rockfish or finesse spinning rod, a 2000-2500 reel, 4-8lb line or PE0.4-0.6 with a fluorocarbon leader suit this worm's size and target species. This setup keeps enough sensitivity to register a light take while still carrying enough reserve power to keep a fish clear of nearby structure.
