Description

The VOYAGER EXIV MAD DOG (ボイジャー EXIV マッドドッグ) is the VOYAGER EXIV mobile pack-rod built for boat games that lean on medium-to-large lures, casting comfortably up to about 3oz. Its tip holds enough tension for accurate lure control while the blank's stopping power keeps hard-fighting fish from breaking away, making it a rod suited to run-and-gun access by bike or train as well as overseas travel.

Length 6'3" (1.905m), lure weight 15-80g, PE line #1.5-6, Moderate action, 151g, 4-piece NANO JOINT construction, 54.5cm closed length. Built on TORAYCA T1100G carbon with NANOALLOY technology, SHIELD TECH exterior, a down-lock reel seat and FUJI stainless-frame SiC-S guides. Official target species: seabass, black bass, barramundi, toman (giant snakehead), peacock bass and pike.

FAQ

What does the power rating (UL, L, M, MH) actually mean?

JDM power letters often run lighter than the same letter on a US or Australian blank. The honest spec is the lure-weight range in grams on each listing — match that to what you throw, and use the letter as a tiebreaker.

How do I read Japanese rod lengths?

Japanese lengths are written in feet and inches as a decimal: 6.6 reads as 6 feet 6 inches, not six-point-six feet.

One-piece or multi-piece for travel?

Two-piece and telescopic travel rods pack shorter and ship more easily. One-piece blanks feel cleaner, but long parcels can attract courier length surcharges and some carriers route them more slowly.

What warranty or service do imported rods have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM rod. Repairs go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before you buy.

Will a one-piece rod cost more to ship?

It can. Long parcels attract courier length surcharges on some routes and can move through fewer carriers. Any shipping cost shows at checkout before you pay — no surprises after the order.
