Description

A boat reel built around a 2-position 60/70mm single power handle (shipped set to 70mm) that covers everything from light aji to LT hirame, as well as LT gomoku (mixed-species bottom fishing), tachiuo (cutlassfish), and jigging. Its carbon matrix drag has a built-in clicker so you can gauge line speed by ear and stay ahead of a break-off. The thumb rest is offset toward the handle arm for a deeper, more secure grip when fighting fish, and the clutch bar uses an asymmetrical design to prevent accidental palming presses. Frame and side plates are graphite; gears are brass DuraGear.

How it fishes

The 6.5:1 gear ratio, giving 67cm per handle turn, suits a steady retrieve off the bottom, with the drag set to a maximum of 7kg to protect light line on the strike from an unseen fish. Small changes in cadence often make the difference between a follow and a committed strike from a cautious fish.

Spools and spares
