Description
Abu Garcia SaltyStyle Surf(ソルティースタイル サーフ)is a shore-fishing rod line built for high sensitivity and light weight at an accessible price, roughly 6% lighter on average than the previous generation. Guides use a Fuji SiC top ring with Alconite rings on the Fuji KR guide concept, paired with a Fuji reel seat; X-carbon tape wrapping (45°/135°) adds torque and twist resistance. Material: 98% carbon, 2% glass.
This listing carries three models from the line:
- SYSS-1032ML — 10'3"/312.4cm, ML power, regular-fast, 2-piece, spinning, PE 0.8-1.5, lure 7-45oz, 160g. Built for finesse work with lighter lures — comfortable casting of ~15g jig-head worms, 15-30g metal jigs and ~20g plugs.
- SYSS-1082MH — 10'8"/325.1cm, MH power, regular-fast, 2-piece, spinning, PE 0.8-2.0, lure 10-60oz, 185g. The extra length is built for big surf game — large pelagics, cushion-class flatfish (hirame) and ōnibe — casting big-baitfish-pattern lures, poppers and diving pencils.
- SYSC-1052M — 10'5"/317.5cm, M power, regular-fast, 2-piece, baitcasting, PE 0.8-3.0, lure 7-40oz, 175g. A delicate-tip, strong-butt model for precise baitcasting presentations with ~20g plugs, ~30g metal jigs and ~20g jig-head worms.

FAQ
What does the power rating (UL, L, M, MH) actually mean?
JDM power letters often run lighter than the same letter on a US or Australian blank. The honest spec is the lure-weight range in grams on each listing — match that to what you throw, and use the letter as a tiebreaker.
How do I read Japanese rod lengths?
Japanese lengths are written in feet and inches as a decimal: 6.6 reads as 6 feet 6 inches, not six-point-six feet.
One-piece or multi-piece for travel?
Two-piece and telescopic travel rods pack shorter and ship more easily. One-piece blanks feel cleaner, but long parcels can attract courier length surcharges and some carriers route them more slowly.
What warranty or service do imported rods have?
There is no local service centre for a JDM rod. Repairs go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before you buy.
Will a one-piece rod cost more to ship?
It can. Long parcels attract courier length surcharges on some routes and can move through fewer carriers. Any shipping cost shows at checkout before you pay — no surprises after the order.
