What it's built for

Aimed at seabass, hirasuzuki, marusuzuki, onibe and aomono pelagics fished from surf beaches and rocky shorelines, suited to both wave-washed structure and open sandy stretches depending on conditions and season.

How it fishes

Casts and works minnows, poppers and metal lures typical of surf and rock seabass fishing, with enough stiffness to control fish in current or around structure while still casting the lighter end of the range comfortably.

The setup it likes

Pair with a 3000–4000 spinning reel, PE1–2 mainline and a fluorocarbon leader suited to surf and rock structure, sized to handle both aomono pelagics and structure-hugging seabass on the same outfit.
