TICT MINIMALISM Liberte (ミニマリズムリベルテ) is a casual, tubular-tip spinning pack rod built to stow away easily for travel and expeditions as well as everyday use. It covers everything from ultralight aji (horse mackerel) and mebaru (rockfish) fishing to plugging for kamasu (barracuda) and mekki (juvenile trevally), through to light rock fishing.

As a travel pack rod, the Liberte blanks fold down small without losing the whippy, tubular-tip feel of a dedicated light-game rod. Load builds smoothly from tip to mid-section on the cast, and the tip stays fine enough to work jigheads and small plugs cleanly.

What it's built for

Useful wherever a rod needs to travel — expeditions, weekend trips or as an everyday spare — for ultralight aji and mebaru sessions, plugging for kamasu and juvenile trevally (mekki), and general light rock fishing.

How it fishes

Fish jigheads on a slow fall with occasional twitches, or work small hard lures with a steady retrieve and short pauses for kamasu and mekki. The MLS-624 suits the very lightest rigs; step up to the MLS-775 for heavier jigheads and plugs.

The setup it likes

Match the MLS-624 to a 1000–2000 spinning reel with 6 lb line or PE 0.3, and the MLS-775 to a 2000–2500 reel with 12 lb line or PE 0.8, with a short fluorocarbon leader.
