Description

Studio Composite's Twin Hook DM (ツインフックDM, "Twin Direct Message") is a twin-point hook designed mainly for big-bait fishing aimed at big bass.

Because a big bass's mouth is large and edged with hard scales, the two hook points are thinned to the practical limit for maximum penetration, and set with a longer shank and wider gape than a conventional treble hook so they can find purchase around a wide-bodied bait. The two points sit at a 100-degree angle to each other, positioned to catch the target's mouth effectively relative to the bait's body width.

The hook points move independently rather than being fixed in place, letting them continue to track the fish's mouth after the strike; the Twin Hook System is patented (Patent No. 5923676) and won a 2019 Good Design Award.
