The Shimano 23 Cardiff XR is a purpose-built trout spinning reel from Shimano's Japan domestic lineup, engineered for long days on stocked lakes and area trout venues. It uses Shimano's Micro Module Gear II for a refined, smooth retrieve and reduced gear noise, paired with a larger-diameter drive gear positioned for strong, consistent cranking power under load.

X-Protect construction gives the Cardiff XR a high level of waterproofing, while a long-stroke spool design improves casting distance and line lay accuracy. The C2000S size weighs just 155 g, making it a genuinely lightweight option for extended sessions.
