Description

The FORCEMASTER 600DH (フォースマスター 600DH) is Shimano's compact electric reel built around the concept of never letting a hooked fish escape. Touch Drive Speed Lock gives instant, accelerator-like control over retrieve speed with two selectable intermediate speeds, a Hooking Mode switches to a faster set-the-hook speed on demand, and a new Fall Lever lets anglers precisely control drop speed for slow-fall presentations.

Power comes from the MUTEKI MOTOR+ with a 10kg maximum drag force, paired with a colour Tankenmaru fish-finder screen that displays bottom depth, structure, school size and lure trace directly on the reel. Line capacity of PE2-300m/PE3-200m makes it a versatile reel for tachiuo (太刀魚/hairtail), chummed madai (真鯛/red seabream), blue-water species (青物), light dropping techniques, hirame (平目/flounder), amadai (甘鯛/tilefish), shallow-water yariika (槍烏賊/spear squid), akamutsu (赤むつ/blackthroat seaperch), isaki (伊佐木/grunt), shimaaji (縞鯵/striped jack) and aji (鯵/horse mackerel). Gear ratio 6.5:1, weight 495g.

FAQ

Is the JDM version different from the US or AU release?

Often, yes. JDM releases can differ in spool depth, weight and handle options, and the Japanese lineup is usually broader — including sizes and models never exported.

Will spare spools from my current reel fit?

Spool compatibility is per generation, not per model name. Check the model year and size code against the spool before buying — the model code is listed on every reel.

What size should I choose?

As a ladder: 1000–2500 for finesse and light lines, 2500–4000 for general lure work, 4000 and up for heavy or salt duties. Match the size to your line and water first.

PG, HG or XG — what's the difference?

PG is a slow, powerful gear for cranking. HG is the all-round high gear. XG is the fastest retrieve for picking up slack quickly — higher speed trades away winding torque.

What warranty or service do imported reels have?

There is no local service centre for a JDM reel. Repairs and servicing go back to Japan, usually with a fee and a multi-week turnaround — weigh that before you buy.

Can I still get spares for older JDM-only models?

Often, yes — Japanese makers keep parts lists for older models, and some spares are stocked here. See the spares and custom parts collection, or ask before you order.
